SUMMARY:

This two day course provides an in-depth look at the rapid development of TOP END client applications on Windows NT and Windows 95. Students will learn how to program TOP END clients with any ActiveX OLE 2.0 compliant development tool (e.g. Visual Basic, Power Builder, Delphi, etc.), and will also learn how to program TOP END Web based Java Applets. Students will learn about rapid client development through both class lecture and extensive hands-on exercises.

• Overview of the TOP END Remote Services for Java (JRS)

• Details of the JRS API
• Details of the JRS security model
• Using Symantec's Visual Cafe to rapidly develop a TOP END JRS client
• Debugging problems in a JRS client

PREREQUISITES:

• Introduction to TOP END course (or equivalent experience)
• Windows NT or Windows 95 experience (recommended)
• Basic Java and General Programming experience (recommended)
